EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS
Will STORM make it back home on the 80th day of the STORM World Tour? Let us hope that we can sleep in our own beds after all these nights!
On November 2, STORM completed its 80-day World Tour with its self-developed electric motorcycle. With a great event at the TU Eindhoven Campus, STORM was welcomed home.
80 days and 23,000 kilometers ago, 23 TU/e students started with a trip around the world on their homemade electric motorcycle. The dreams they had, became reality when, after more than two years, STORM WAVE left the podium in Eindhoven on August 14. The goal: to show the world that the future of mobility is electric by proving that it is already possible to drive 23 thousand kilometers on a motorcycle without local emissions.
Each day, STORM charged its batteries using the existing electricity grid. Universities, companies and individuals have helped the team to recharge the batteries and to present its story.
Despite some minor setbacks, the team has crossed Europe, Asia and the United States. On November 2, day 80 of the journey, STORM Eindhoven drove the last 400 kilometers from Paris to Eindhoven, where they arrived around 17:30 pm on the TU/e campus.
